Artificial intelligence is planned to be implemented in St. Petersburg hospitals since 2021

A working meeting was held on 15 July between the management of the St. Petersburg “Medical Center for Information and Analysis”and the management of the Kaluga company” Medical Screening Systems ” (Сelsus). An agreement was reached on testing and possibility of implementing artificial intelligence in the work of health care institutions in Saint Petersburg in the course of the talks.

Celsus neural network examines digital medical images to determine the presence of neoplasms. Usage of the service shortens the time for diagnosis and minimizes the risk of missing pathology. There are 13 regions of the Russian Federation where have been launched pilot projects on the use of the service. It is also being used as part of a large-scale experiment of Moscow City Health Department to introduce AI services into the work of departments of radiation diagnostics.

As a result of the meeting, a proposal of launching a pilot test of artificial intelligence in August 2020 will be prepared for St. Petersburg Public Health Committee. The service will start working in Saint Petersburg in 2021 in case of successful testing.
